Description
One of the most peripheral social neighbourhoods of Porto, the Lagarteiro was built as part of the Improvement Plan (2º phase). Inaugurated in 1973 and expanded in 1977, the neighbourhood is composed by 446 dwellings distributed by 13 blocks of four floors covered by prefabricated panels and visible brick, as in Lordelo de Ouro. Besides the rehabilitation work of the buildings, the visit takes into account the significant global intervention in the public space that improved the road and pedestrian connections of the neighbourhood and its openness to the surroundings.
