Description
Renovated in 1961 by Álvaro Siza for his parents, this house was acquired by the Matosinhos Municipality to house the activities of the Casa da Arquitectura [House of Architecture], an association created to promote national architecture. The workspaces, the library, the exhibition room, the archive or the small store, were adapted to the house’s typology, maintaining it’s homely feel. Take notice in the quality of the treatment of the space, including furniture, lamps, woodwork, that make the change of this house to institution a natural act, almost expected.
