Description
Classified in 2013 as a Public Interest Building, this key work by Fernando Távora shows a singular balance between a taste for modern principles and the resorting to traditional materials and elements, following the inquiry published as “Popular Architecture in Portugal” in 1961. The school is organized around a multifunction room, from which two volumes of classrooms and schoolyards develop, separated by genre. Particularly expressive are the roofs and the association of materials.
