Description
Symbol of the local power after the 25th of April revolution, this building is key in the work of Alcino Soutinho. In the context of Porto’s contemporary architecture, the stone ochre exterior with a wavy portico is surprising, but the indoor space with tile coated pillars and an atrium as high as the building, sends us back to the conquests of modern architecture. It is also relevant the articulation with the eclectic adjacent house. The visitants will also have access to the Noble Salon under the great dome, the Public Sessions Room and the Edil private rooms.
