Description
Public Interest Monument since 2012 and abandoned since 2011, this work by Artur Andrade stands out for its political meaning and for the modernity of its themes. Its wavy elements, the large glazed units and the use of electric light create surprizing and cinematographic effects, described as having an expressionist modernity. Visitants will not be able to contemplate Júlio Pomar’s mural, considered against the Regime and destroyed in 1948, but they will feel once more the glamour of the foyer and theatre.
