Description
This building, that today houses the Portuguese Canoeing Federation, was built to accompany the construction of the São João Bridge and is in itself, a model of the bridge: its two adjacent parallel towers simulate the bridge’s deck on a scale of 1/3 – trials to test the effect of the weight on the bridge were even done there. Besides the two glazed offices and the view to the train bridges, the visitors can also see a full-scale model of a section of the São João Bridge.
